Free Cancer Support Workshop at Brentwood Public Library

June 1, 2017 Greg Ericksen

Cancer Support Workshop Mon., June 5, 12 & 19 12:30-1:30 pm

This free, 3-part series workshop is designed with cancer patients & their caretakers in mind, those in cancer remission, family members dealing with a loved one with cancer, or a cancer advocate. Each workshop will build upon the next & will be a combination of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Tapping followed by Guided Imagery.

EFT works on specific "Tapping Points" that are associated with emotions and patterns on the subconscious level. It operates on the principals of Traditional Chinese Medicine & its energy meridian system. Attendees will self-tap.

Each week, we will explore and tap. Some of the topics may include stress around the diagnosis; including going for Doctor’s appts./testing, coping with change, and dealing with negative emotions around the diagnosis and the body. Guided Imagery is a relaxation tool that aims to ease stress, and promotes a sense of peace and tranquility during difficult times. The facilitator guides the individual into a safe place or sanctuary and assists in their journey while inducing total relaxation. This process allows for the desired result of a mind/body connection that facilitates a sense of wellness.
